Meet the Founder

Matthew Taylor

For over a decade, Matthew Taylor has been the person behind the bar that everyone remembers. What started as a job became a calling—a deep appreciation for the craft of the cocktail, the art of hospitality, and the magic that happens when a great drink meets a great celebration.

Matthew's journey didn't stop at bartending. Three years ago, he added wedding officiant to his repertoire, drawn by the privilege of standing beside couples at the most meaningful moment of their lives. And when he recognized how often his clients needed a trusted photographer who understood the rhythm of an event, he brought on a dedicated photographer with six years of wedding and event experience.

The result is Spirited Affairs—a company built on the belief that every celebration deserves the elegance, attention, and sense of occasion that defined the Art Deco era. Based in Redding and serving all of Northern California, Matthew and his growing team bring that philosophy to every event they touch.

The Art Deco movement of the 1920s and 30s was about more than geometric patterns and gold accents. It was a philosophy—a belief that beauty and function could coexist, that everyday moments could be elevated into something extraordinary, and that the best celebrations were those designed with intention and executed with precision.
